1. Acceptance

By using I Ching Explained you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. What this site is

I Ching Explained is a free educational and entertainment resource about the I Ching, an ancient Chinese text. It provides a casting tool, an interpretive library of the 64 hexagrams, and explanatory guides.

3. Not professional advice

The content on this site is for reflection and entertainment. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or professional advice, and it must not be relied on for any decision of consequence. If you are facing a medical, legal or financial problem, consult a qualified professional. This is the most important clause on the page.

4. No guarantee of accuracy

Interpretations of the I Ching differ between traditions and translators. Ours are original modern readings offered in good faith. We make no claim that they are authoritative, that any particular reading will prove accurate, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

5. Your use of the site

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape it at scale, republish its interpretive text, or present it as your own. You may quote short passages with a link back to the source page.

6. Intellectual property

The site's design, code and original interpretive text are protected by copyright. The I Ching itself is an ancient text in the public domain, and the structural facts we present about it — hexagram order, line patterns, trigram attributes — are facts, not our property.

7. Third-party links and advertising

The site contains advertising and may contain affiliate or third-party links. We are not responsible for the content, products or privacy practices of those destinations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I Ching Explained and its operators are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or your reliance on anything you read here.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the site changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
